Stop abusing the word 'like'!

 STOP ABUSING THE WORD 'LIKE'

'Like' is like the most bullied word I have ever seen. It's abused like continuously without it's permission.

Oh you thought I was like starting with a cool introductory line? Well, sorry to...umm..like burst your bubble. But I am like super busy and don't have enough time to write a cool introductory line.

(Laughs after finally finding some sentences to abuse the word 'like' upon)

Ok, sure lemme put an end to your confusion. Those two lines above are pure test subjects used to showcase the abusing of the word 'like' (not gonna lie, finding those two test subjects was a real pain).

Previously we mentioned about abandoning the word 'na' (you haven't checked it out yet? Go read it now here : https://stoptriggering.blogspot.com/2021/08/stop-using-na-in-english.html), but here the case is different. Like is the perfect word to express your uncertainty (doubt) in the most concise way but spamming it will make your passing in English doubtful too.

There's a difference between abusing a word and using a word. The first two test subjects portrayed the abusing of the word 'Like'. Now for using the word 'Like' here are another two test subjects :

Me: What color should be used in this blog?
My Brain : Something alluring like Yellow, Blue or Green
Me : Yellow?
My Brain : Sure!

The above two test subjects (my little brain and me) portrayed the use of the word 'like' properly.
My lil brain used 'like' to express it's uncertainty in picking up a color out of the three.
If I replied : Like Yellow?, that will be abusing of 'Like'. My lil brain has already created an uncertainty, why create more of it by using like? Instead use a question mark! That looks like you have selected one color and you are verifying about your selection.

Err. That sounded Greek? Ok forget that ever happened.

Just get the idea that abusing a word is never good. Why?

  • The word itself feels depressed. Currently (as far as I guess) 'Like' is the most saddest word in the history.
  • Abusing a word slowly starts to define you. If you abuse the word 'Like' too much then it shows how uncertain are you. It makes you look like that person in the room who has no idea about what is going on.
  • Also, why be the villain in the story? Instead be the civilian if not the hero. Stop being a bully to 'like' and instead use it normally.
I mean it, stop abusing the word 'like', it looks way uncertain and is not good for your marks, unless you want to make yourself too uncertain to even get qualified as a proper self thinking human.

Like that was like the coolest conclusion I have ever seen in like my life.

NO, it wasn't.
